Overview

The Training visa (subclass 407) allows people to participate in workplace-based occupational training activities in Australia to enhance their skills in their current occupation, area of tertiary study, field of expertise or in a highly specialized training program.

Eligibility Requirements

Sponsorship:

• You must be sponsored by an approved temporary activities sponsor

Nomination:

• You must be nominated for a position that provides structured workplace-based training

Training Requirements:

The training must:

• Be directly related to your current occupation or field of study
• Improve your skills in that occupation or field
• Be delivered by an organization with a demonstrated record of providing training
• Not be available in your home country

English Language:

• Functional English (IELTS 4.5 average) is required
• Some exemptions may apply

Genuine Temporary Entrant:

• You must genuinely intend to stay in Australia temporarily

Health and Character:

• Meet health and character requirements
